MAINE EASTERN RAILROAD EXCURSIONS - 2013

The Maine Eastern Railroad schedule begins in late June, Wednesday through Saturday, through mid-October.

If the following excursion packages do not fit your travel plans and you wish to book one of our other scheduled departures, simply give our friendly reservation staff a call. Tickets may also be purchased on board the train. Details about our complete schedule are found below.

Tickets purchased in advance will be waiting for you on-board the train in Will-Call.

Reservations are encouraged.

MAINE EASTERN RAILROAD ADA Compliance Exception
Historic and antiquated rail passenger equipment, like that used on Maine Eastern Railroad passenger excursion service is exempt from ADA regulations under U.S. Code: Title 42: Section 12184. The restored, historic and antiquated passenger cars used on this excursion service were constructed before disability accessibility laws were adopted. Stairs, step-stools, seating; and especially doorways, passageways, aisles, and onboard restrooms may not accomodate all passengers.

Disabled patrons should bring sufficient able-bodied manpower to assist them in these situations.

MAINE EASTERN RAILROAD PET POLICY
During the regular season, Maine Eastern Railroad is pet friendly.

During boarding, traveling and disembarkation, pets must be kept under control and be kept in a closable pet carrier, kennel box or crate.

Pets will be limited to one coach or vestibule, and must be accompanied by their owner/handler at all times.

Pets must be kept on a leash when on the platform or inside a train station.

Pets may not be allowed inside food establishments located at or in train stations.

No pets will be allowed to travel in the dining car or in the parlor car.

Guide/Service Dogs, and Guide/Service Dogs In Training will be allowed to travel uncrated, provided the dog is properly harnessed and labeled appropriately.

No pets are to be left on the train unattended at any station for any length of time.

Ticket Pricing for all pets and animals will be based on the child rate of $23.00 per pet, even if the the pet carrier does not occupy a seat. Pet carriers occupying more than a single seat will be charged for each seat.

There will be no refunds if a pet and passenger are removed from the train due to pet-related issues, safety or other reasons.

Pets may be excluded from specific and certain trains during the season.

The conductor may prohibit any and all animals and pets at his/her discretion.

NOTE: The train cannot stop for the comfort of a pet. Passengers and pets will not be allowed to disembark the train at any stop other than his/her ticketed destination.
